ABOUT US

Founded in 2001, Little Owl School is a multicultural, coeducational preschool and elementary day school. Our program runs from age two up to Grade 8. We are proud to offer our Little Owl Curriculum - the Ontario Curriculum plus enriched developmental activities your child will love. Little Owl is registered with The Ontario Ministry of Education and follows the Ontario Curriculum, designing and delivering engaging lessons and enriching fine arts programming. In addition, our low student teacher ratio means that your child is getting the attention they need to succeed.

We place emphasis on early childhood development and education. Whether you enroll your child in our Kindergarten or Elementary program, Little Owl teachers foster the development of the whole child. We use discovery based learning activities, sensory manipulatives, and developmental centres to fully engage your child in their lessons. We assess your child's understanding and gently challenge them to continue their next developmental phase.

Olena Formich

Great Experience!

“Our experience with Little Owl has been great. Little Owl provided us with the best care my daughter could have outside of our own home. She learned so much, had fun, made friends and truly enjoyed her time at Little Owl. We live in Richmond Hill and Little Owl was a destination place for our family. We love the school and are sad to go. We recommend it to any other parent!”

Svitlana Kirnasova

He loved it so much he never wanted to leave at the end of the day. We will definitely return for the summer program.”

FACULTY

Ms. Habibeh Javadkhani

“It has been a pleasure to be a member of the Little Owl family for nine years now. I have a grounded passion for children and strive to cater to the needs of each individual child. My goal is to provide the best learning and loving environment to ensure that students successfully transition into the next stages of development.”

Ms. Yana Glibova

“I am a devoted member of the Little Owl team and passionate about teaching. It is important to me to be a positive role model and ensure that all students’ unique needs and goals are met.”

Mr. Joshua Itwaru

Music Teacher

“It is my duty and goal to uphold the belief and education of the Little Owl School, by providing its students with the discipline and understanding of the philosophy and theory of music. Alongside that, it is my daily right to institute the qualities of excellence, generosity, integrity, and dignity in each individual so that they may be the light in dark places.”

Ms Julia Galinsky

(Kindergarten and Elementary Teacher)

A child’s mind is like a “tabula rasa”, it is a blank slate. The environment shapes the genetics underneath. I am passionate about bringing forth the best version of the student and motivating them to be honorable, educated, intelligent, sophisticated and independent thinkers. “Do not train a child to learn by force or harshness; but direct them to it by what amuses their minds, so that you may be better able to discover with accuracy the peculiar bent of the genius of each.” Plato
Developing confidence in children is a vital aspect of educating. As they mature and blossom, their self-esteem develops and they realize that there is a beautiful world open for them to discover and play a pivotal role in. I do not lecture, I merely bring forth what is already imprinted in the child from birth.

Ms. Sonya Pacheco

(Sr. Kindergarten Elementary Teacher)

“At Little Owl we have a wide range of teaching approaches that give students the tools they need to succeed. The teachers also work together, collaborating and sharing ideas in the commitment to giving students a well rounded experience.”

Ms. Larysa Teslyuk

(Elementary Teacher)

“Little Owl is a united and caring community. We have a warm and cozy atmosphere where students can feel appreciated. There are many educational resources that children can use to grow with and that teachers use to develop children’s reading, writing, and speaking skills.”

Ms Yumi Ruohan Nje

(Senior Kindergarten Teacher)

There are plenty of exciting points about stepping in the field of early learning care program and to be a teacher. O have found myself to understand their wonderful internal world. Each child is a colorful world, as long as you are sincere and patient to observe them, then you can read their hearts. I love helping children learn by discovering their interests in order to plan specific activities for them. I enjoy guiding children and be the pioneer for them when they explore the world and have questions.

Ms Sa’diya Matthew

(Elementary Teacher)

Knowledge is a privilege. It’s omnipotent. I want my students to be passionate about learning. I want them to have dreams and goals. I want to encourage every skill, talent and interest that they have. I want to teach them not only about academia but about the arts, cultures, sports, world issues and current events
I want to make a difference. I want to actively contribute to the future. Education is a right. It’s the key to success and its fundamental to cognitive and social development. Learning environments should be student centered and encompassed by a sense of community. There are a lot of exceptional children and situations, and I am determined to strengthen every one of them.

Ms Radha Rupal-Batra

(Elementary Teacher)

Being able to have a safe and exciting environment to blossom in is vital for a child. I believe in making learning exciting and fun for children so that they develop the passion to learn and excel themselves.
I am a great believer in allowing children to learn through exploration. Whether this be in Maths, English, Science or one of the creative subjects. If children are given this opportunity their thirst for answers becomes greater.
I look forward to being able to nurture children at Little Owl’s through their learning journey.
